What Would You Do if Social Media Disappeared Tomorrow?

Would you panic?

If social media is your main way of reaching new customers, it might be time to think about other ways to connect. While I don’t think social media is going anywhere soon, having a backup plan is crucial. That’s where email marketing comes in. Let’s explore how to build an email list so you’re not left relying solely on social media.

Create a FREEBIE!

When it comes to email, people are a bit protective. I mean, who wants more ‘junk’ mail, right? But offer something valuable, and suddenly, giving out an email doesn’t seem so bad. Think about your ideal client: What problems do they have, and how can you help? What could you offer that’s valuable enough for them to share their email address with you?

Here are some ideas to get you started:

For Service-Based Businesses:

  • An eBook with your top ten tips on ‘X’
  • A video series on achieving ‘X’
  • A workbook to help with ‘X’

For Product-Based Businesses:

  • A discount code for your online store
  • Early access to new products and exclusive offers
  • A special ‘members’ lifetime discount
  • A free ‘something’ for their next visit

When you’re deciding on your freebie, put yourself in your customer’s shoes. What are they looking for, and what do you have to offer? Once you nail these questions, you’ll be on your way to creating a great freebie.

Automate It All!

The best part? You can automate the whole process! With tools like MailChimp, Mailerlite etc, managing your mailing list, designing email campaigns, and creating landing pages becomes a breeze. Once someone signs up, they automatically receive your freebie or a series of emails. It’s like having a marketing assistant working for you 24/7.

Imagine having a lead magnet working in the background, drawing people to your business. All you have to do is direct people to your landing page, and the system takes care of the rest. It’s a great way to build a warm audience to then be able to sell your products or services.
